Senior Software Compliance Analyst

REMOTE

Overview:

The Senior Software Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements, corporate policies, and regulatory standards. This position involves close collaboration with various departments to oversee, track, and manage software licenses throughout the organization. You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance, reducing risks, and optimizing software utilization while contributing to cost-saving strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement controls, processes, and procedures for effective software asset management across the enterprise.
  • Monitor software usage and licensing to ensure adherence to agreements and relevant regulations.
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with software licensing non-compliance; develop strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure alignment with legal requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on software license consumption for forecasting, budgeting, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Conduct regular software license audits to verify compliance and identify potential discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with system lifecycle managers and budget owners to understand current software licensing needs and assist in future planning.
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to assess and optimize enterprise software license requirements and deployments.
  • Analyze software usage to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Validate invoices related to software licensing.
  • Participate in fulfilling licensing requests through the central catalog and provisioning systems.
  • Establish a process to track software end-of-support and end-of-life events, collaborating with lifecycle managers for planning.
  • Assist in evaluating software for organizational fit and compliance.
  • Work with departments to establish controls around software installation and develop adherence processes.
  • Focus on cost-saving initiatives, including license remediation, harvesting, and reducing software duplication.
  • Collaborate with CIO Services teams to enhance software asset management tools for improved tracking and monitoring.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • Understanding of software usage rights and contractual obligations.
  • Knowledge of IT asset management best practices, including license remediation and reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Costpoint.
  • Experience in ServiceNow catalog development and software license management.
  • Proficient in process development and improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Understanding of IT software contract models, including subscription and enterprise agreements.
  • Knowledge of the relationship between contracts, IT assets, and the Configuration Management Database.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow SAMPro certification.
  • Experience in developing and managing complex processes and goals.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with automated asset management systems.
  • IAITAM Asset Management certification.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and execution skills.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting.

Note: This position is fully remote, following a standard 9 am to 5 pm (EST) schedule. Candidates are not required to reside on the East Coast to be considered for this role. There is potential for contract extensions and possible conversion with the client.
