Junior Industrial Engineering Specialist

Raytheon Technologies is on the lookout for a dedicated Industrial Engineer I to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be instrumental in enhancing our production methodologies to promote safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This position offers you the chance to spearhead continuous improvement initiatives and implement significant advancements within our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to achieve impactful process improvements and cost reductions.
- Conduct capacity assessments and pinpoint enhancement opportunities to boost efficiency (OEE).
- Analyze historical data, predict future demand, evaluate available resources, balance capacity with demand, and identify bottlenecks.
- Engage in Gemba walks, continuous improvement projects, and Kaizen events.
- Promote a culture of ongoing improvement throughout the organization and provide training to cross-functional teams on lean principles and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering, product engineering, program management, and operations teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A University Degree is typically required, along with less than 2 years of relevant experience, or alternatively, 6 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain access to Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) information.
- U.S. citizenship is necessary due to government contractual obligations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving Techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all organizational levels.
- APICS CPIM Certification or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with iChart tools for forecasting.
