Job Overview

Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 annually, based on experience.

SUMMARY
We are seeking a proficient electrical engineer or technician with a strong background in the design, development, and management of electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded skill set in electrical control systems, demonstrating both technical knowledge and practical experience in overseeing complex installations and efficiently resolving issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing, developing, and overseeing all facets of electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Managing the installation and support of PLC-based hardware and software.
  • Planning and managing new installations or modifications to existing systems to minimize material waste, enhance quality, and reduce downtime.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting equipment or system malfunctions, providing technical support and guidance to maintenance and production teams.
  • Programming Logic Controllers (PLCs) such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens, including regular interaction with RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk Studio, and Rslinx.
  • Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems, programming HMI and PLC ladder logic, and integrating discrete and analog devices.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as UL and CE.
  • Experience with Vision Systems (e.g., Eagle Vision, Keyence) and various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g., Yasakawa, ABB, Kinetix).
  • Knowledge of RS232 and RS485 protocols, Profibus DP/PA protocols, Variable Frequency Drive systems, Motor Control Centers, and both analog and digital signals.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting control system issues, providing on-site support for existing installations, PLCs, HMIs, instruments, and VFDs.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic programs, process flow diagrams, and instrumentation diagrams.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees may be required to perform additional duties as assigned and must be able to follow directions, work collaboratively, adhere to work rules and schedules, and focus on details.

QUALIFICATIONS
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or Business.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the process industry related to automation control, PLC Ladder Logic programming, and HMI design and configuration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and possess a positive attitude.
  • Creative thinker with a results-oriented approach, focused on detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous self-improvement.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to thoroughly conceptualize designs.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and the public. Mathematical skills include the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and managing several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires regular standing and walking, frequent sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards. Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial environments is essential. Protective gear may be required as appropriate. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary based on business needs.
