Job Overview

Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 annually, based on experience

SUMMARY: We are seeking a proficient electrical engineer or technician with a strong background in the design, development, and management of electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded skill set in electrical control systems, combining technical knowledge with practical experience in overseeing complex installations and efficiently troubleshooting issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the design, development, and management of all facets of electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Lead the installation and maintenance of PLC-based hardware and software.
  • Plan and execute new installations or modifications to existing systems to optimize material usage, enhance quality, and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and rectify equipment or system malfunctions, providing technical support and guidance to maintenance and production teams.
  • Program Logic Controllers (PLCs) using platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens, with regular engagement in RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk Studio, and Rslinx.
  • Configure and design HMI/OIT systems, including programming HMI and PLC ladder logic and integrating discrete/analog devices.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as UL and CE.
  • Experience with Vision Systems (e.g., Eagle Vision, Keyence) and various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g., Yasakawa, ABB, Kinetix).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols including RS232, RS485, and Profibus DP/PA, as well as Variable Frequency Drive systems and Motor Control Centers.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting control system issues, providing hands-on support for existing installations, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic programs, process flow diagrams, and instrumentation diagrams.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or Business is required, along with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the process industry, particularly in automation control, PLC Ladder Logic programming, and HMI design.

LANGUAGE & MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

LANGUAGE: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, and technical procedures. Capable of writing reports and business correspondence, and effectively presenting information to groups.

MATH: Proficient in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and proportions, and applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands of this position require regular standing and walking, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards. Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial environments is essential, and protective gear may be required. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary based on business needs.
