Department Overview

  • The Corporate Strategy & Management (CSM) Division integrates Finance & Planning, Spend Oversight, Operational Risk Management, and CSM Engineering teams to provide business planning and analytics, expense oversight, third-party risk management, and governance strategies across the organization. CSM operates through five key pillars.
  • Finance & Planning facilitates the execution of the organization's strategic goals through the management of the planning process, comprehensive reporting, and insights into the organization's business plans and budgets.
  • They establish a consistent framework for revenue division forecasts, promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in projections.
  • This division also includes the CF&O, EO, and Engineering divisional CFOs, who serve as strategic finance advisors assisting the organization and non-revenue divisions in realizing commercial financial opportunities.
  • Product Finance oversees the governance and proactive management of the organization's non-compensation expenditures.
  • Spend Oversight encompasses functions responsible for managing all aspects of the organization's expenditures with external parties, advising on commercial agreements, and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Departments include Strategic Procurement, Procure to Pay, Integrated Travel and Expense, Infrastructure and Transformation, and Sustainable Operations.
  • Operational Risk Management drives organization-wide Operational Risk initiatives alongside second-line teams and implements necessary changes within CSM.
  • The Corporate Insurance & Advisory team within this division identifies, procures, and manages corporate insurance requirements for the organization and its investment entities.
  • The CSM Engineering team delivers engineering solutions that empower the organization to manage third-party expenditures, data, and automation, plan budgets, forecast financial scenarios, allocate expenses, and support corporate decision-making aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.

Role Summary

  • Professionals within CSM possess an analytical mindset, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, and come from diverse academic backgrounds.
  • This position resides within the Spend Oversight pillar and will concentrate on strategic procurement activities within the Professional Fees expenditure category.
  • Professional Fees is a category within the Strategic Procurement team that focuses on advisory consulting, staff augmentation, outsourcing, and managed services expenditures across all divisions within the organization.
  • The role necessitates collaboration with various functions across the organization regularly, the ability to work autonomously, and the capacity to engage with senior professionals throughout the organization.
  • It also involves comprehensive analysis and reporting for senior management, requiring diligence and a commercial perspective.
  • The candidate is expected to collaborate closely with global counterparts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct market benchmarking to influence consultant strategies, drive the execution of the procurement process, and identify the most suitable consulting vendor for each engagement in partnership with business stakeholders utilizing Source to Pay technology systems.
  • Deliver commercial excellence through project-specific and category-wide financial analytics, including budget analysis and bid evaluations to identify cost-saving opportunities and inform negotiation strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to draft and negotiate contract terms while ensuring appropriate contract structures, pricing models, vendor incentive models, service level agreements, and performance indicators are consistently applied across vendors.
  • Monitor and report on executed contracts, including expenditure and other trends of strategic vendors to understand their impact across the organization.
  • Engage with business and vendor stakeholders to identify and escalate vendor or client sensitivities, as well as recognize commercial and relationship opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Risk Partners across the organization (e.g., compliance, technology, legal, finance, information security), as necessary, to review control requirements and resolve Strategic Procurement issues.
  • Support the organization's Vendor Diversity Program by seeking to incorporate small and diverse vendors into the supply chain.
  • This role can be performed remotely.
