Key Responsibilities

  1. Procurement Oversight: Direct and manage the procurement lifecycle, from identifying needs to supplier selection and contract negotiation, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
  2. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors, assess their performance, and resolve any disputes that may arise.
  3. Strategic Sourcing Initiatives: Develop innovative sourcing strategies to optimize expenditures, enhance quality, and mitigate risks associated with procurement.
  4. Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, pricing, and delivery schedules, while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  5. Financial Oversight: Monitor procurement budgets, analyze costs, and identify opportunities for savings through effective financial management.
  6. Inventory Coordination: Work collaboratively with inventory management teams to maintain optimal stock levels and streamline supply chain processes.

  8. Process Optimization: Continuously assess and refine procurement processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce lead times.
  9. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze procurement data and present insights to management, tracking key performance indicators and supplier effectiveness.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in a leadership capacity within the public sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Educational Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Relevant experience in financial management, public policy analysis, or a related field is essential.
