Job Summary

The Employee and Labor Relations Manager is a key member of the Human Resources team at Illinois Action for Children, responsible for all aspects of employee and labor relations. This role requires a strong understanding of employment law, collective bargaining agreements, and human resources management principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counsel employees and managers on employee relations issues, including performance improvement, disciplinary actions, and employee separations.
  • Administer IAFC's employee recognition program and oversee employee rewards and recognition initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs, including performance management, employee engagement, and labor relations.
  • Provide training and support to employees and managers on HR-related topics, including performance management, employment law, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Participate in negotiations and grievance settlement with Collective Bargaining Unit, and handle formal grievances.
  • Supervise an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator position.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, and 7 years of human resources experience in employee relations, human resources management, or HR generalist role.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements.
  • Labor relations experience a plus.
