Position: Facility Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and Operations:
  • Oversee the upkeep, functionality, and maintenance of all facility components, including mechanical systems, grounds, and overall infrastructure.
  • Establish and execute preventive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate necessary repairs and renovations, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
  1. Space Management:
  • Strategically plan and allocate space within the facility to optimize usage and efficiency.
  • Facilitate office relocations and rearrangements to meet organizational requirements.
  1. Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Implement safety initiatives, conduct regular inspections, and promptly address safety issues.
  1. Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Develop and oversee the facility's budget, encompassing operating costs, capital investments, and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Solicit competitive bids and manage contracts for services such as cleaning, maintenance, and security.
  1. Security and Emergency Preparedness:
  • Manage security protocols to protect the facility, its assets, and personnel.
  • Create and implement emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures and crisis management strategies.
  1. Environmental Sustainability:
  • Promote environmentally sustainable practices within the facility.
  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and recycling initiatives.
  1. Vendor and Contractor Management:
  • Select and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts, ensure compliance with service level agreements, and monitor vendor performance.
  1. Communication and Coordination:
  • Act as the primary contact for facility-related inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including department heads and employees, to address facility needs.
  1. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Painting (Classrooms, Doors, etc.)
  • Changing light bulbs
  • Organizing storage areas
  • Managing maintenance records
  • Vent cleaning
  • Emergency light testing
  • Moving and/or assembling furniture
  • Performing minor repairs (e.g., fixing locks, wall repairs, caulking)
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in facility management or related fields, showcasing leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with building systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in Facility Management (CFM) or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience with facility management software and systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
Working Conditions:
  • The facility manager typically operates within the centers, traveling to various locations to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to oversee projects or address emergencies.
