The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the complete recruitment process for hourly positions. This includes identifying potential candidates, conducting interviews, and overseeing the post-offer procedures such as background checks and onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire recruitment and training cycle for non-exempt (hourly) roles, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the pre-employment processes, which include drug screenings, background checks, and E-Verify, along with new hire orientation regarding benefits.
  • Ensure adherence to the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) and maintain the Personnel Activity Log (PAL).
  • Advertise all open positions both internally and externally.
  • Input new hire data and manage the HRIS system.
  • Implement and manage the employee referral program.
  • Ensure compliance with pre-employment processes, including I-9, E-Verify, E-Screen, and background checks.
  • Engage with employees through routine walkthroughs of the production area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Workday is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Affirmative Action Plans and Employment Law.
  • Ability to implement HR policies and procedures effectively.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience in a Unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with AS400, Kronos, Ceridian, or Workday.
Education/Training:

A high school diploma is required.

An associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of recruiting experience, ideally in an HR or production setting.

Food Safety Responsibilities:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is tasked with supporting and ensuring compliance with the Global Food Safety Policy Manual.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensuring all job descriptions align with FSSC requirements.
  • Defining training requirements for all positions related to food safety and quality within their area of responsibility.
It is essential for the individual to comprehend the Food Safety Statement, complete necessary training, and perform job functions in accordance with this training while demonstrating competency in all Quality Assurance, Safety, and Security policies and training requirements. Training areas will encompass GMP, HACCP, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000, Global Food Safety Policy, Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
