A. POSITION SUMMARY
The Healthcare Talent Acquisition Specialist serves as the essential connection between All American Home Care and prospective candidates in the healthcare sector.
With relevant experience, the specialist will undertake responsibilities such as conducting interviews, evaluating resumes, and ensuring the organization is matched with candidates who can effectively meet the needs of both the employer and the organization.
The role also involves completing all necessary documentation to establish employee files and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in accordance with Human Resource guidelines.
Furthermore, the position tracks to confirm that all required documentation has been submitted to the Human Resources Department upon completion of initial and annual competencies and in-services.
B. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Consistently responsible for advertising and recruiting personnel for open positions.
- Screen potential staff through in-person interviews, conducting criminal background checks, performing drug tests, verifying licenses and credentials, and completing reference checks.
- Ensure all employees meet medical prerequisites for employment prior to assignment, including 2-step TB testing, Hepatitis B declination, drug screening, and flu vaccination.
- Compile all personnel and medical files for staff upon hiring and forward them to HR for record-keeping.
- Analyze organizational plans and objectives, collaborating with managers to determine recruiting needs.
- Attract candidates through job postings, online platforms, and community outreach.
- Recommend policies and practices, oversee job offers and compensation, and highlight benefits to enhance the organization's appeal.
- Identify alternative sourcing methods such as cold calling, recruitment calls, referrals, and social media networking.
- Verify candidate references to ensure the authenticity of claimed skills and experiences.
- Negotiate and extend offers to selected candidates, obtaining approval from the recruiting manager.
- Research and participate in job fairs, conferences, and recruitment events.
- Locate healthcare professionals through various channels, including online searches, referrals, nursing schools, direct outreach, and job fairs.
- Assess candidate resumes against job requirements.
- Facilitate the hiring process, including interviewing and screening candidates.
- Develop applicant sources by engaging with community services, educational institutions, employment agencies, and online platforms; providing information about the organization, opportunities, and benefits; delivering presentations; and maintaining relationships.
- Update and refine job descriptions and specifications as needed.
- Onboard new hires to ensure they are fully integrated into the organization.
- Act as a liaison and foster strong candidate relationships throughout the selection process.
- Promote the reputation of All American Home Care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must maintain a professional demeanor and effectively communicate with consumers, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors, and all other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm, and a collaborative spirit with team members, reflecting concern for the well-being of both consumers and employees.
- This position requires the specialist to spend the majority of time seated at a desk in an office environment.
- Visual and auditory abilities must be sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communications.
- Finger dexterity is necessary to operate a computer keyboard.
- Must effectively manage stress.
- Possess strong telephone communication skills.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a recruiting or scheduling role is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office; must possess a pleasant phone demeanor.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
- Capable of multitasking and following through on directives in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in staffing and recruiting is advantageous.
