About the Role

The Renewable Energy Account Executive will spearhead the sales of solar and battery solutions to commercial and industrial clients, including terminal operators. This role requires a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with the Sprague Solar LLC team, marketing department, and senior management to craft compelling offers for potential clients, build a robust pipeline of leads, and facilitate the conversion of these leads into profitable contracts. You will also engage with essential support teams such as finance, legal, and operations to ensure compliance with Sprague's standards and objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Managing Director of DG Solar to formulate, communicate, and implement an annual sales strategy. The effectiveness of this position will be measured by the growth and profitability of Sprague Solar LLC.

This is a fully remote position, with a preference for candidates based in the northeastern United States.

Key Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with the Sprague Solar Team and other sales resources to enhance lead generation efforts, including:
  • Contributing to the creation of new and existing product offerings for the C&I market.
  • Assisting in the development of marketing materials, including brochures and online content.
  • Representing Sprague at industry conferences to promote our solar solutions.
  • Identifying and onboarding third-party brokers to expand our reach.
  • Evaluating the potential of leads against business objectives.
Sales Process Management

Oversee the sales conversion process for all qualified leads, ensuring:
  • You serve as the primary contact and relationship manager throughout the sales cycle.
  • Meetings are organized with potential clients, involving subject-matter experts as needed.
  • Key milestones in the sales process are clearly defined and tracked.
  • You lead negotiations to finalize agreements with clients.
  • Regular updates are communicated to the Managing Director and relevant teams regarding sales progress.
  • All inquiries from prospective clients are addressed promptly.
  • You build and nurture a high-performing sales team as necessary.
  • You drive revenue growth for Sprague Solar with favorable return profiles.
Post-Sales Engagement

Act as the main point of contact after a deal is closed, ensuring:
  • Clients are kept informed throughout the project execution phase.
  • You collaborate with the project execution team to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • You maintain contact with clients post-project to ensure ongoing satisfaction and explore additional opportunities.
  • You seek referrals and testimonials from satisfied clients, contributing to case studies for future sales efforts.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; postgraduate degree in business preferred.
  • Proven track record in lead generation and sales conversion.
  • Experience in business development within the solar or renewable energy sectors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Experience in building effective sales teams and leveraging third-party brokers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
