  • Work closely with commercial leaders to identify and execute organic growth initiatives that support the long-term aspirations and strategy of Sprague Energy.
  • Develop and communicate investment theses for attractive industries and companies, engage potential acquisition targets, and facilitate the process to negotiate deals.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that can enhance our capabilities, expand our market reach, and drive growth.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
  • Support financial modeling, including valuation analysis, to assess the financial viability of potential investments and opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and investment proposals for executive review, showcasing your ability to execute financially sound strategies.
  • Evaluate the risks associated with potential investments and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, including potential partners, investors, industry contacts, and business unit leaders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A, or related roles within the energy sector. Renewable energy experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing development projects, M&A transactions, and driving growth initiatives, emphasizing entrepreneurial capability and business development skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how to interpret financial and operating statements, develop projections, and value the ROI of a project or company.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the energy industry and market dynamics.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Strong project development skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
