Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves delivering exceptional customer service support to healthcare business offices throughout the revenue cycle. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the capability to manage a substantial volume of calls while efficiently navigating various systems.

Work Schedule

Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM; Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with one Saturday per month from 8 AM to noon.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the position (additional tasks may be assigned):

  • Manage patient accounts through both inbound and outbound calling initiatives.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills while assisting patients with inquiries, processing payments, and establishing payment arrangements.
  • Accurately document each patient interaction or account activity in compliance with company and client policies.
  • Efficiently handle accounts while adhering to production and customer service benchmarks, ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Education and Experience

A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital business office or medical accounts receivable setting is required, providing a solid understanding of credit, collections, and customer service principles. Candidates must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully, both verbally and in writing, to document account activities effectively. Familiarity with progressive collection procedures in line with client directives is essential. Proficiency in using personal computers and automated dialing systems is also required. Knowledge of relevant regulations, including client-specific policies and HIPAA, is crucial.

Language Proficiency

Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Certifications

Certification as a Patient Account Representative is preferred.
