Description:

The Operations Manager plays a key role in the Fenix Marine Services Terminal Management Team. Reporting to the department manager, the Operations Manager oversees daily operational plans and ensures a safe work environment. Responsibilities include managing union foremen, labor, clerks, and mechanics, meeting operational goals, and maintaining positive labor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Manage Union Workforce: Oversee the activities of union foremen, labor, clerks, and mechanics, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify and Address Safety Issues: Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues that may arise, emphasizing the importance of standard procedures.
  • Recruit, Train, and Evaluate Employees: Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and performance, and conduct regular evaluations to assess employee growth and development.
  • Manage Labor and Vendors: Coordinate with labor and vendors to achieve production and safety targets, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing costs.
  • Plan Labor Force Efficiently: Analyze operational needs and plan the labor force accordingly, ensuring optimal operations and minimizing downtime.
  • Meet Customer Service Agreements: Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and ensure that operational plans meet their expectations.
  • Perform Additional Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as required, contributing to the overall success of the terminal management team.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: A college degree or relevant experience in a related field.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer skills, including software applications and data analysis tools.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Availability to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Driver's License and TWIC Card: A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
