Description:

The Operations Manager plays a key role in the Fenix Marine Services Terminal Management Team. Reporting to the department manager, the Operations Manager oversees daily operational plans and ensures a safe work environment. Responsibilities include managing union foremen, labor, clerks, and mechanics, meeting operational goals, and maintaining positive labor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage union workforce, handle grievance resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Identify and address safety issues with an emphasis on standard procedures and protocols.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate employees to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage labor and vendors to achieve production and safety targets, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Plan labor force efficiently to optimize operations and meet customer service agreements.
  • Meet customer service agreements and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the team and achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • College degree or relevant experience in terminal management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Availability to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
