Custodial Services Specialist

The Custodial Services Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of designated areas within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness in lunchrooms and common areas, including sinks and countertops.
- Dust mop hard surfaces and vacuum carpeted regions.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all public restrooms.
- Empty trash receptacles within the facility.
- Respond promptly to requests from the Supervisor for immediate cleaning tasks.
- Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the Supervisor within a 24-hour timeframe.
- Preference will be given to qualified applicants with disabilities. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for those capable of performing essential job functions.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in custodial services.
- At least 1 year of experience in floor care.
- Ability to read and write effectively.
- Capability to measure quantities and comprehend written instructions in English.
- Physical mobility in various settings and layouts is required.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and custodial practices is essential.
- Understanding of safe cleaning product combinations is necessary.
- Ability to perform all janitorial tasks consistently on a daily basis.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to follow instructions, including safety protocols and address safety concerns when possible.
- Attendance at all mandatory training sessions is required.
- Reliable transportation to and from work is necessary.
- Must be able to obtain Federal Security clearance.
