Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of menu items, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring that all food safety and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and carry out the Executive Chef's requests and orders without question.
  • Ability to execute all positions on the line and assist line staff when needed.
  • Oversee the production of all menu items and ensure that they meet the highest quality standards.
  • Perform line checks to ensure that all refrigeration, rotation, and dating of food are up to standard.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of daily specials.
  • Implement closing duties for the runners, stewards, line/pantry cooks, and ensure that all duties are being completed.
  • Ensure that all foods are up to our quality and standards, and that all specials are current with the seasons and trends.
  • Coach and train staff to THE ONE GROUP brand of food.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure that their respective jobs are being executed as per company guidelines.
  • Ensure A+ standards for kitchen cleanliness and follow all Health Department Guidelines.
  • Attend all weekly management meetings and corporate meetings that are scheduled.
  • Assist the chefs and coordinate with the purchaser with ordering daily.
  • Assist the chefs with the scheduling on a weekly basis.
  • Prevent breakage by monitoring kitchen crew.
  • Inspire and motivate kitchen staff.
Fiscal Responsibility
  • Assist and monitor daily labor and food cost reporting sheets to ensure costs are trending within budgeted parameters.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly profit and loss statement and act on all variances.
  • Help ensure that all overtime is authorized.
