Position: Certified Educational Aide and Youth Guide

Schedule: Part-time, Monday - Friday, 7:45 am-3:15 pm
Location: Various school sites
Compensation: $19 per hour

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with educators to deliver direct instruction and support to small groups or individual students.
  • Serve as a positive role model, fostering strong connections with students.
  • Assist educators in various classroom tasks, including maintaining a safe environment, managing supplies, and preparing instructional materials.
  • Support the assessment of student progress, grading, and providing assistance as necessary.
  • Anticipate teacher needs, predict student behavior, and effectively problem-solve within the classroom setting.
  • Engage with the classroom from diverse perspectives, utilizing your passion for language arts, mathematics, and reading to make learning enjoyable and engaging for all students.

ABOUT YOU

  • Comfortable supporting educators in fostering a positive learning atmosphere for students.
  • Assist educators with the preparation of classroom materials and equipment.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional periods.
  • Provide essential academic support to students (e.g., flashcards, drills).
  • Grade assignments and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage clerical responsibilities such as filing and copying as needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligibility to work in the United States, completion of a Live-Scan background check, and TB screening covered by Elevo.
  • 1-2 years of experience in education, coaching, child development, or related child-focused roles is strongly preferred.
  • Possession of teaching credentials or paraprofessional certification.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Willingness to adhere to COVID-19 protocols as outlined by the educational institution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be able to engage in the following activities with or without accommodation:

  • Ability to move about constantly to accomplish tasks or transition frequently between locations.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Occasional running and other physically demanding activities.
  • Ability to navigate safely on uneven or irregular terrain regularly.
