About Options For Youth:
Options for Youth is a network of public charter schools that offers a unique, flexible approach to education. Since its inception, OFY has empowered over 135,000 students to discover their passions and achieve their aspirations. We prioritize the student-teacher relationship, which is essential for fostering the personal, emotional, and academic growth of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with special needs and learning disabilities within a specialized educational framework.
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to reinforce essential language and reading skills.
- Administer and evaluate both individual and group assessments.
- Organize and facilitate Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, coordinating with parents, general education teachers, and special education staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and collaborate with various service providers.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and document advancements toward IEP objectives.
- Support additional academic initiatives within the independent study program.
- Engage in other duties that enhance the Special Education Specialist program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS).
- California Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate) with English Language Authorization (ELA).
- Intern-eligible candidates are encouraged to apply.
