ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Audio Visual Project Manager (abbreviated as Sr. AV PM) plays a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive cycle of design, scheduling, and deployment of collaborative audiovisual equipment in newly constructed or renovated client offices. This includes systems for audio visual, video conferencing, digital wayfinding, production event spaces, and specialized demo areas. The Sr. AV PM collaborates closely with facilities and IT teams to ensure the successful implementation of innovative environments that enhance collaboration and communication. This role is heavily intertwined with construction activities, ensuring optimal site conditions for the installed technology. The project management responsibilities encompass leadership, subject matter expertise, planning, execution, oversight, financial accountability, and post-project evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to execution and post-deployment review.
  • Manage task prioritization for Deployment Coordinators while assisting the Deployment Engineering team with unique deployment challenges.
  • Guide projects through the phases of design, procurement, deployment, and commissioning of collaborative IT equipment in technology office builds, covering areas such as Video Conferencing, event production, digital signage, and broadcast studios.
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders regarding deployment status, effectively communicating technical challenges and risks while mitigating their impact through tools like Asana.
  • Apply client standards in determining design specifications, bill of materials, and drawings for new and remodeled offices, collaborating with design engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Engage with external vendors for hardware procurement, scheduling, and system integration, ensuring adherence to installation standards and contractual commitments.
  • Conduct site visits throughout the project lifecycle to monitor progress.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning handovers with third-party vendors.
  • Perform light drafting tasks in AutoCAD, marking up drawings to convey design intent to other trades.
  • Participate in Bluebeam sessions during design reviews to approve drawings, documentation, and RFIs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and schematics, with an understanding of infrastructure requirements for client spaces.
  • Experience leading teams through design, scheduling, deployment, and commissioning of conference rooms, event spaces, broadcast studios, and other audiovisual deployments in an enterprise context.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues across various platforms.
  • Adept at troubleshooting project-related issues and removing obstacles for installation crews and construction teams.
  • Ability to manage project budgets while adhering to strict guidelines.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects across different cities and regions.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with a keen attention to detail, proactively identifying roadblocks and next steps.
  • Understanding of AV system functionality and installation techniques.
  • AutoCAD proficiency at a beginner to intermediate level, capable of navigating and marking up basic drawings.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Bluebeam Revu Sessions.
  • Familiarity with project management software in an enterprise environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 7+ years of project management experience in a technical field (AV/VC, Networking, Infrastructure, IT Construction, etc.).
  • Certification as a Technology Specialist (CTS) or equivalent.
  • PMP certification preferred (or similar, such as Prince2).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, and similar project management applications.
  • Excellent task management and communication skills, with a strong emphasis on follow-up.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as project needs arise.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment with a focus on delivering a positive user experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple functions and tasks efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation, with the confidence to make decisions and be accountable for project outcomes.
  • Experience managing external vendors in the design process and integration efforts, ensuring compliance with design standards.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
