Position Overview
The Enterprise Risk Management Consultant, also referred to as the Risk Assessment Program Manager, plays a pivotal role in steering and supervising the execution of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Program at Choice Bank. This position is essential for ensuring that the risk management framework aligns with the organization's risk profile and appetite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Program.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the RCSA process and enterprise risk assessments throughout the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders during the RCSA process to ensure adherence to established standards and risk frameworks.
  • Identify coverage gaps and recommend enhancements to RCSAs and risk assessments.
  • Present RCSA reports to senior management and the Board as required.
  • Establish metrics and mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the Bank's RCSA processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to optimize the use of risk programs and processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to efficiently implement risk mitigation strategies and track progress on these initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventories of controls, processes, and risks.
  • Ensure that control management processes and risk mitigation efforts are in line with the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Support the ERM Department in the development, design, implementation, and inventorying of controls and processes.
  • Develop effective communication strategies for disseminating risk reports, frameworks, activities, and mitigation statuses across the organization.
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement in the risk program and related controls.
  • Manage additional assigned risk programs or provide support as needed.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management or related fields such as Enterprise/Operational Risk, Governance, or Compliance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk management principles, frameworks, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in managing risk programs, policies, processes, and controls related to the financial industry's legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Familiarity with developing and utilizing risk controls and key risk indicators (KRIs) to manage risks in alignment with the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Proficiency in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) technologies.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory expectations in the financial sector and the ability to ensure compliance and risk-based decision-making.
  • Awareness of the three lines of defense model.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, escalate critical issues, and proactively solve problems while focusing on continuous improvement.
