Director, University of Florida Water Institute

Job Summary:
The University of Florida is seeking a highly qualified Director for the Water Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Institute's research, education, and outreach efforts, as well as developing and implementing strategic plans to advance the Institute's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Water Institute's research, education, and outreach efforts, including developing and implementing strategic plans to advance the Institute's mission.
- Develop and manage partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and other academic institutions.
- Oversee the Institute's budget and financial planning, including securing funding from external sources.
- Recruit, hire, and supervise staff, including faculty, researchers, and administrative personnel.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the Institute's compliance with University and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the University and the Water Institute in a professional and effective manner, including serving as a spokesperson and ambassador for the Institute.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as water resources, environmental engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a research or academic setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Ability to secure external funding and manage budgets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in water resources management, policy, or research.
- Knowledge of water-related issues and challenges, including climate change, water scarcity, and water quality.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, including budgeting and financial planning.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including collaborating with faculty, staff, and students.
