Role Overview:

An Automation and Control Systems Engineer leverages technology to enhance, streamline, and automate manufacturing processes. This role encompasses planning, implementing, and monitoring automation technologies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and implement innovative automation solutions.

  • Program new automated systems and components.

This position also involves defining the infrastructure and architecture of networks, ensuring the segregation of IT and OT networks, and facilitating integration and data communication across different network layers while adhering to cybersecurity protocols.

Key Support Areas:

  • Assist in establishing wireless OT networks and communication protocols for connectivity.
  • Engage with process historians to enable communication and data analysis.
  • Work with diverse communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, OPC UA, Profinet).
  • Support projects related to ICS and Industry 4.0 advancements.
  • Collaborate with industrial and IT teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical) is preferred, along with a minimum of 8 years of multidisciplinary experience in ICE. The ability to work effectively in multifunctional teams, deliver quality results in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.

Proficiency in project management, including scope, cost, schedule, and benefits delivery, is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Project is advantageous. Experience in risk management methodology and developing risk mitigation plans is also important.

Experience in quality control techniques, including inspection, testing, and reporting, is necessary to meet or exceed deliverables and customer expectations throughout all project phases. Knowledge of HAZID, HAZOP, and Hazardous Location rating assessments is preferred.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in sectors such as Power Generation, Industrial Automation Supply, Oilseeds Processing, Agriculture, Biofuels, Pulp & Paper, Food & Beverage, Packaging, or Chemicals is desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft products, SharePoint, and collaborative software is expected.

Soft Skills:

Knowledge Tools:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel, Tableau, and Power BI is required.
