Your Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing manufacturing workflows, procedures, and production layouts for various assemblies and equipment.
  • Arranging test equipment and hardware within laboratory settings to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Establishing operational sequences and defining protocols for the fabrication of lab equipment and test hardware.
  • Incorporating inspection and testing requirements into the Lab Requirements plan.
  • Evaluating the performance of test equipment and hardware to ensure efficiency, while investigating and initiating corrective actions for any deficiencies.
  • Developing manufacturing processes that align with statistical process control methodologies.
  • Providing engineering guidance on design concepts and specifications to maximize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Daily Responsibilities:
Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Establishing lab processes and procedures, and developing operational requirements.
  • Coordinating efforts between Design Engineering, Lab Management, and Lab Technicians.
  • Leading and tracking lab configurations of test hardware.
  • Creating and managing Lab Change Requests to authorize work on the shop floor.
  • Ensuring hardware is received according to established processes.
  • Monitoring delivered hardware for downstream customers.
  • Leading and coordinating process improvement initiatives with both Northrop Grumman and suppliers.
  • Conducting root cause failure analyses and implementing corrective measures.
  • Developing and maintaining manufacturing work instructions.
  • Defining tooling requirements and specifications.
  • Supporting Integrated Product Teams by conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessments.
  • Reviewing engineering models using NX/Teamcenter.
  • Creating production planning documentation in CPLM and MES.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Qualifications:
To qualify for the Manufacturing Engineer position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience in aerospace or military aviation manufacturing, or a Master's degree with no experience.

For the Principal Manufacturing Engineer role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience in aerospace or military aviation manufacturing, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with no experience.

Security Clearance:
U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
