Compensation:

$26.17 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate accounts receivable reports to monitor overdue accounts and initiate follow-ups on payments.
  • Prepare and distribute initial invoices for attorney review on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure accurate financial documentation for incoming payments on accounts.
  • Resolve billing inquiries by collaborating with clients' accounting departments.
  • Implement requested modifications from billing attorneys and finalize bills for distribution.
  • Case Funding: Acknowledge the receipt and promptness of initial retainer deposits, assist in the application and collection of retainer deposits funded by iQualify, manage the refund of unearned retainer funds, and investigate client payment discrepancies.
  • Billing: Oversee the compilation and dispatch of billing statements to clients.
  • Accounts Receivable: Enforce the firm's policies regarding the collection of accounts receivables and additional retainer deposits.
  • Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable invoices and requests within the firm's approval system; prepare checks for invoice payments, employee reimbursements, and disbursement of IOLTA funds.
  • Firm Accounting: Assist vendors with bookkeeping preparations and state and federal filings.
  • Budget Planning: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets.
  • Vendor Relations: Provide support to vendors in managing employee compensation services and benefit programs; establish and maintain effective communication and professional relationships with bookkeeping, payroll, retirement plan, accounting, and insurance vendors.
  • Reporting: Take a leading role in preparing periodic financial reports and analyses, including the compilation of monthly financial dashboards.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Develop and implement procedures to maintain organized financial records and mitigate financial losses.
  • Projects & Administrative Support: Execute assigned projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a billing specialist role within a law firm.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office, Excel, and billing software is essential.
  • Able to produce high-quality work while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Some college education is beneficial; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
