In this role, you will handle inbound calls primarily from patients regarding their medical billing inquiries. You will be part of a productivity program that tracks daily calls and meetings, averaging approximately 6 calls per hour.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week)

Monday to Friday, with standard business hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST. Occasionally, you may be required to work overtime based on business needs.

We provide 6 weeks of paid training, with the schedule discussed on your first day of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to collect support data, ensuring the accuracy of invoices and addressing specific billing discrepancies.
  • Inform customers about the options for receiving invoices and making payments through online platforms.
  • Address concerns related to patient account balances.
  • Manage inbound calls effectively.
  • Direct accounts for review and resolution.
  • Provide accurate information and facilitate resolutions for customer and third-party inquiries while representing the organization.
  • Review and analyze account activities and payer explanations of benefits to confirm that payments and adjustments are accurately processed.
  • Handle patient correspondence.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 1 year of experience in a call center within a healthcare billing or medical insurance environment
  • 1 year of experience working with EOB (explanation of benefits)
  • Familiarity with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and/or medical claims processing
  • Proficient in Windows PC applications, with the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex systems
  • Ability to travel to the designated location to pick up equipment on the first day.
  • Availability to work during standard business hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST, with occasional overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in medical insurance
  • Experience with Epic or other EMR systems
  • Previous experience in healthcare billing
  • Familiarity with various insurance companies

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin
  • Ability to maintain the security of all company-sensitive documents (if applicable)
  • A dedicated workspace that is separate from living areas and ensures information privacy is required.
  • Must have access to a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or an existing high-speed internet service.
