Production Process Engineer

Overview:
As a key contributor, you will design and execute efficient, cost-effective production methodologies in alignment with product specifications and quality benchmarks. You will propose and enact enhancements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls utilizing lean manufacturing principles. Your role will encompass managing engineering modifications and overseeing change control processes. You will coordinate and strategize the manufacturing launch for both new and updated products. Additionally, you will provide Industrial Engineering support across all production operations through the application of lean manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies. Your responsibilities will include developing work instructions, process flow layouts, and setup procedures while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Core Responsibilities:

Collaborate with production control, tooling design programmers, manufacturing teams, and quality assurance to ensure effective production techniques.

Engage with management, engineering, and other personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production timelines, and other factors to streamline production workflows.

Offer support to the production floor as needed.

Maintain all necessary documentation for customer requirements.

Assess customer specification modifications for their impact on products and take appropriate actions.

Implement new orders and modifications to existing orders within the manufacturing framework.



Qualifications and Skills:
Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential.
Strong understanding of GD&T with the ability to create and interpret work instructions.
Capability to produce detailed assembly instructions.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
Effectively manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver results.

Experience with MasterCam programming is advantageous. Familiarity with JobBOSS is a plus.

You are comfortable working directly with equipment and possess a mechanical aptitude, enjoying the use of tools and a practical manufacturing mindset. You are dedicated to optimizing the manufacturing process for maximum stability, repeatability, and quality.

You adhere to the scientific method, utilizing your knowledge of materials and physical properties to formulate hypotheses, independently measure characteristics of parts and materials (metrology), and make data-driven decisions to enhance processes.

Foster a positive work environment by communicating effectively and building rapport with customers, colleagues, and management.

Continuously expand your knowledge of lean principles and utilize these tools to identify and support ongoing improvements.



Education and Experience:
A degree in Engineering, specifically in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related field is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
