Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the Engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Program Management: Direct all design engineering functions in support of short- and long-term business objectives, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Talent Development: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the skills and knowledge of the Engineering team, ensuring they remain current with industry technology advancements.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical expertise to the Engineering team, as well as to Sales and Marketing teams, to support customer visits and industry trend tracking.
  • Program Development: Lead the development of complex design activities, ensuring program objectives are met within cost and schedule requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and products, driving efficiency and effectiveness within the Engineering organization.
  • Human Resources: Manage personnel authority over the Engineering organization, including add/remove, appraisals, promotion, and compensation, in accordance with upper management concurrence.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with the business leadership team to create technical presentations and budget/schedule estimates in support of new program opportunities and proposals.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in an Engineering discipline (EE, ME, CS, ChE) required, with an advanced engineering degree desired.
  • Experience: 5+ years of Engineering Management experience in a highly regulated industry (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, etc.).
  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated technical knowledge of power systems, electronic design, and software development processes.
  • Industry Standards: Experience with aerospace environmental and development standards for both Military & Commercial industries (i.e. MIL-STD-810, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, etc.).
  • Product Development: Experience with aerospace product development lifecycles for hardware/software co-development from product requirements through qualification and release to production.
  • Program Management: Demonstrated expertise in program management with adherence to schedule and cost requirements.
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate and drive teams to meet established program requirements in support of business objectives.
  • Product Launch: Demonstrated experience of bringing complex technical products to market.
