Job Summary

At Techstaff, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a critical role in the development of our products, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and engineer innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of our documentation system and configuration control, serving as a resource for others in this area.
  • Create new product configurations as required by Sales, utilizing a working knowledge of model numbering schemes for all products.
  • Responsible for creating and/or modifying product documentation, including outline, assembly, and detail drawings, bills of material, sourcing documents, and process instructions, with a working knowledge of mechanical drawing conventions, tolerances, and GD&T.
  • Work with other engineers to produce 3D models and other concept documentation to aid in the development process, possessing a firm background in 3D modeling using SolidWorks.
  • Perform design analyses, such as tolerance stack-ups, mechanical fit, and design for manufacturability.
  • Maintain the laser automation configuration for all applicable products.
  • Process ECOs and general documentation updates for all departments as needed.
  • Interface with other facets of the organization to ensure effective cooperation and optimal productivity.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (AS) in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or similar from an accredited college or university, plus three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
