Job Overview

In this position, you will strategically oversee the Engineering division, ensuring that product quality and operational efficiency standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer engineering support to guarantee that plant operations, machinery, and processes are functioning at peak performance.
  • Provide timely recommendations and assistance to Division Engineering.
  • Manage the maintenance management software system.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Regularly assess and review employee performance metrics.
  • Draft validation documents, user requirements, equipment specifications, and other necessary documentation.
  • Advocate for and foster a Lean Manufacturing culture within the facility.
  • Enhance processes and procedures to produce high-quality products at reduced costs.
  • Prepare quotes for new automation lines and engineering services for both new and existing clients. Develop supplier relationships and maintain audits. Create design concepts for new automation systems.
  • Lead the process engineering team in qualifying new molds and optimizing existing processes.
  • Provide guidance to engineering staff, ensuring tools and supplies are scheduled and available for departments. Manage various engineering projects as assigned.
  • Conduct meetings with clients both on-site and off-site to ascertain their needs, requirements, and specifications. Build strong relationships with clients and automation suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Organize and schedule training for the department. Procure tooling-related equipment in line with company policies.
  • Accountable for project cost management and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders while achieving production and quality objectives.
  • Maintain updated machine and plant equipment schematics.
  • Oversee the operations of the site engineering teams.
  • Develop initial project scopes, timelines, savings, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare Project Expenditure Requests (PER) and project justification documents.
  • Identify equipment requirements.
  • Investigate new technologies and methodologies for implementation in the plant.
  • Present justifications to management and/or clients to secure necessary approvals.
  • Lead project teams and facilitate team meetings as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required based on business needs.
  • Adhere to all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Science field is preferred.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of managerial or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, production equipment, and industrial techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills are essential.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
  • A solid mechanical background and familiarity with CAD and SAP systems is advantageous.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be capable of performing job duties as required with minimal physical demands.
