Work Schedule: Full Time Exempt. Hours and days may vary.

Compensation: Annual salary range of $90,000-$110,000.

Role Summary:

The Banquet Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the activities of the banquet department while ensuring guest satisfaction. This role involves providing exceptional leadership within the banquet division, coordinating the setup and service of all events, and ensuring adherence to service standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and lead all banquet department staff to meet established cultural and operational standards.
  • Oversee administrative functions of the department, including scheduling, payroll, performance assessments, and recruitment.
  • Project a positive image of the organization by maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Be visible in operations, recognize staff contributions, and address guest inquiries or special requests.
  • Coordinate event setups according to specifications, liaising with group contacts and management to ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef to create effective menus and ensure product quality.
  • Inspect function rooms and equipment for cleanliness and proper setup prior to events.
  • Maintain communication with Catering Sales and ensure all event details are accurately shared with the team.
  • Manage labor and operating costs through effective scheduling and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout the venue.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and maintain positive vendor relations.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback regularly.
  • Plan daily activities and set departmental goals.
  • Utilize management software effectively for operational tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Outcome:

The Banquet Manager is expected to inspire and guide the banquet team towards achieving established objectives, resulting in high levels of employee and guest satisfaction.


Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.


Education and Experience:

A minimum of three years of progressive experience in Food and Beverage Management, particularly in Banquets or luxury settings, is preferred. A college degree in a related field is advantageous.


Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret business documents and effectively communicate with diverse groups.


Mathematical Skills:

Proficiency in basic calculations and understanding of financial concepts.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.


Certificates and Licenses:

Must possess a current Food Handlers Card and RBS Certificate, along with a valid driver's license.


Other Skills:

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work a flexible schedule.


Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand, walk, and handle objects. Must be able to lift and move items as needed.


Working Conditions:

Employees may encounter various environmental conditions while performing job duties. Safety procedures must be followed at all times.
