Surgical Services RN Supervisor

Scripps Health Administrative Services plays a vital role in supporting our network of hospitals and outpatient facilities, which collectively serve a significant number of patients each year through a large team of affiliated healthcare professionals.
This is a full-time, day shift managerial role as a RN Supervisor in the Surgical Services department, which includes rotating administrative responsibilities during weekends. This position offers a competitive salary and is eligible for a New Hire Bonus.

As the Supervisor overseeing the Operating Room, you will be responsible for fostering an environment that upholds established standards of nursing practice and prioritizes patient safety. Your duties will include managing the daily operations of the surgical unit, developing staffing strategies, and ensuring that the necessary resources and equipment are available for the nursing team. You will also oversee the seamless transition of patients through their care journey, ensuring active involvement from nursing staff in care planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operational management of the surgical unit, ensuring compliance with care standards.
- Develop and implement staffing plans to meet the needs of the unit.
- Ensure the availability of essential resources and equipment for nursing staff.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among the healthcare team.
- Monitor and manage departmental budgets to align with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree with a minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience in the operating room, including two years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team development skills.
- Ability to exercise authority and responsibility in accordance with organizational scope and patient care complexity.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current California RN license and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
- Specialty certification relevant to the surgical area.
- CNOR certification is preferred.
