Crisis Intervention Specialist Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team at Crisis Connections. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing support and guidance to individuals experiencing crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals in need, utilizing a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
  • Assess and develop intervention plans to address the individual's crisis situation.
  • Collaborate with a team of clinical staff and volunteers to provide comprehensive support services.
  • Document all interactions and interventions, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in crisis intervention and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in crisis intervention or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the public mental health system and crisis response protocols.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple IT/software platforms and interacting with individuals in crisis situations. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a call center environment, wearing a headset or earphones for extended periods.
