Crisis Intervention Specialist Job Description

Job Summary:

The Crisis Intervention Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the 24-Hour Crisis Line volunteer phone workers. This position requires a strong understanding of crisis intervention principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced call center environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective support to volunteer phone workers in assessing, developing, and implementing interventions for emergent and non-emergent calls.
  • Assist phone workers in developing and implementing appropriate interventions, providing feedback and debriefing following calls.
  • Complete Case Reviews and accurately and timely review log sheets and screening guides.
  • Participate in program meetings and attend training and in-services.
  • Cross-trained as Patient Placement Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences.
  • Minimum of one-year experience as a volunteer on the Crisis Line preferred.
  • Knowledge of the public mental health system.
  • Ability to work effectively in a call center environment.
  • Ability to navigate Electronic Health Records and experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently.
