Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Daikin. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships with assigned Consulting and Design Engineers in the specific market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of new business development with assigned engineers, including getting Daikin VRV and other assigned Daikin products designed and listed on job specifications.
  • Maintain and strengthen the relationship with the local Daikin sales representatives to ensure achievement of sales and market share goals.
  • Determine sales and technical training needs for the engineers and execute the plan to deliver those needs.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customers' missions, capabilities, and business posture.
  • Call on assigned engineers to develop long-term relationships which result in Daikin specifications for commercial and residential HVAC jobs.
  • Take action to ensure business development goals are being executed and measured.
  • Conduct business development through direct contact with engineers.
  • Identify technical requirements and project scope, then utilize Daikin resources to assist engineers in designing jobs.
  • Closely work with the Daikin Rep Account Managers to develop and track jobs to make sure Daikin wins those jobs.
  • Work with the Rep Sales Engineers to communicate details and appropriate information to help ensure Daikin and the Sales Reps win the job.
  • Perform extensive market analysis including competition, local codes, market trends and additional information that will help Daikin and the Sales Reps fully understand the market dynamics and what is needed to compete and win.
  • Maintain full tracking and reporting of all activities including customer contacts, jobs being worked on, status of those jobs and any additional information deemed appropriate by supervisor.
Requirements

Four (4) years of experience as a sales engineer for HVAC equipment, including mini-splits, packaged units and VRV with a high-volume HVAC manufacturer; including four (4) years of experience preparing technical proposals and reports, and providing engineering, product and technical support to engineers and sales representatives.

Travel Requirement: 30-40% domestic travel required.
