Apogee Engineering is in search of a Senior Systems Engineer to provide critical support for Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Tactical Information Systems (PEO-TIS). Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver systems engineering expertise with a focus on requirements analysis, concept development, risk assessment, and verification of space-based capabilities and associated sensor technologies.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders and engineering teams to devise technical solutions that meet operational needs.
  • Analyze and decompose requirements, translating military operational needs into detailed technical specifications and system characteristics.
  • Assist in the creation and review of technical documentation supporting Fielding & Deployment Release (F&DR) and Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E).
  • Engage with government counterparts to ensure clarity and adequacy of engineering processes and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Research and evaluate emerging space technologies to support evolving operational requirements.
  • Recommend technical solutions to address operational needs, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering.
  • Utilize advanced tools for documenting and analyzing complex engineering tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of Statements of Work/Statements of Objectives (SOW/SOO).
  • Conduct advanced engineering tasks including reviewing change proposals and conducting technical analyses to assess performance.
  • Provide expert insights for status briefings to leadership, outlining project progress and challenges.
  • Support the management and traceability of requirements throughout the system lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS clearance with SCI eligibility
Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
Experience: 10 years in engineering, systems engineering, or systems integration, including:
  • 6 years in space programs with experience in sensor phenomenology and communications systems.
  • 5 years of technical experience in RF theory.
  • 5 years in engineering project management.
  • Strong understanding of National Reconnaissance Office systems and processes.
  • Practical knowledge of Tagging, Tracking, and Locating (TTL) systems.
  • Experience in requirements analysis, design, testing, and risk assessment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree in a STEM field with 10 years of relevant experience.
