Job Overview

Position: Parts & Inventory Specialist

Type: Entry-Level, Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour plus bonuses based on experience

The Parts & Inventory Specialist is responsible for the effective planning, organization, and oversight of the shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of all items sourced from suppliers. This role is crucial in ensuring that operations run smoothly, with parts and supplies being efficiently located and distributed. The position also entails managing the shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of parts, rentals, and equipment. Additionally, the Specialist will maintain the workspace, which includes organizing workstations, performing general clean-up, ensuring proper lighting, and overall upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and researching parts for team members and customers.
  • Assisting the Service team with parts requirements for upcoming tasks.
  • Preparing parts for daily service orders.
  • Processing returned parts from service orders and reintegrating them into inventory.
  • Managing warehouse and inventory control.
  • Handling shipping and receiving tasks, including forklift operation as necessary.
  • Unloading and organizing stock orders.
  • Updating customer information and assets in the CRM software.
  • Responding to incoming parts requests from customers via various communication methods and entering quotes and orders accurately.
  • Routing qualified prospects to the appropriate Sales Engineer for equipment, service, and rental opportunities.
  • Participating in required sales training sessions.
  • Exhibiting excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrating strong listening abilities and effective time management skills.
  • Exhibiting creativity and flexibility in problem-solving.
  • Efficiently operating the computer system and CRM software.

Experience Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Forklift training or certification is advantageous, but training will be provided as needed.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Capability to work independently and complete assignments within established guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for telephone interactions.

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Training: Comprehensive training will be provided, focusing on CRM software that manages sales and inventory, along with industry knowledge. This training will be compensated, and additional web-based training will be available. Manufacturer area managers will assist during their sales visits, and the Peerless Energy Systems staff will provide ongoing support. This training process will span several weeks and will continue as you develop professionally with the company.

Retirement Benefits: Peerless Energy Systems offers a 401K plan, allowing employees to contribute up to the federal maximum of their wages tax-free, with a company contribution of 3%.

Health & Life Insurance: Employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance options on the first day of the month following 30 days of continuous employment. A comprehensive benefits package is also available, including vision, dental, life insurance, and short & long-term disability coverage.

Vacation Policy: Employees are entitled to one week of vacation after 90 days of employment, one week after one year, two weeks after two years, and three weeks after five years of continuous employment.

Holidays: Paid holidays include Christmas, New Year's, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Thanksgiving.
