Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team at the Hawaii State Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and managing the construction of educational facilities and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop architectural plans and specifications for educational facilities and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and oversee the construction process, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and contractors, to ensure that projects meet the needs of the department and the community.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that construction is progressing as planned and that any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the design and construction process, including the use of new technologies and innovative materials.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in architectural design and construction management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Architect License.
  • Experience working in the education sector.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
