Recruitment Level IV:

Auditors are tasked with reviewing financial records to provide an assessment of the fiscal health and operations of governmental entities, individuals, and corporate bodies.

This role necessitates the application of sound accounting principles and widely accepted auditing standards.

Auditor Level III engages in moderately complex auditing tasks by examining smaller agencies or business entities or focusing on specific areas of fiscal operations for both small and large organizations; assists senior auditors with more intricate audit projects; and undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Auditor Level IV is responsible for conducting comprehensive audits independently, evaluating governmental financial records or those of business entities, regulated utilities, and transportation companies; may lead a small team of junior auditors on less complex cases; and carries out other related tasks as assigned.

To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Legal Authorization to Work:

The State of Hawaii mandates that all individuals seeking employment with the government must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Basic Education:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution with a minimum of twelve semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing.


Specialized Experience:

Two years for Level III, and three years for Level IV of progressively responsible professional auditing experience requiring knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting and auditing principles, standards, and practices for analyzing and interpreting financial records.


Driver's License:
Some positions may require a valid driver's license at the time of hire.
