Position Overview: This role is pivotal within Olympus Surgical Technologies America (OSTA), providing essential analytical support to management across various departments.

The successful candidate will engage in cross-functional collaboration to implement strategic initiatives, develop financial models, conduct profitability assessments, manage budgeting and forecasting, establish KPIs and metrics, and oversee business performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, implementing necessary controls to ensure effective execution throughout the fiscal year.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful month-end financial reports, including variance analysis and executive presentations, highlighting risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
  • Extract data from financial systems to create management reports and financial packages, both routinely and on an ad hoc basis.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to establish strategic goals and the corresponding financial and operational budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide analytical tools to assist managers in evaluating tactical options, defining success measures, and establishing target metrics and KPIs.
  • Partner with management to gain insights into business operations and offer financial guidance to proactively manage risks and opportunities.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams aimed at process improvement to enhance operational efficiencies and report outcomes to senior management.
  • Review intercompany statements of work (SOW) for R&D and monitor progress to accurately forecast expense reimbursement timing and amounts.
  • Work alongside IT and Finance to design and implement data and reporting solutions that meet both immediate and long-term functional needs.
  • Act as the financial lead on project teams, conducting financial modeling to support investment decisions, validating financial data, and managing project expenditures.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (MBA preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in business planning and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in an organized manner.
  • Critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills; ability to produce high-quality work and adapt to organizational changes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP systems, Hyperion, Oracle, and Power BI.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
