Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled accounting professional to join our Finance Team.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will be instrumental in managing daily financial operations while ensuring the accuracy of the month-end financial closing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through detailed analysis required for financial statement preparation, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures that uphold efficiency and internal controls in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Conduct general ledger account reconciliations and prepare necessary adjusting journal entries, providing clear explanations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Generate timely and accurate financial reports and analyses as requested.
  • Collaborate with various departments to troubleshoot and resolve financial issues.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing account fluctuations.
  • Prepare monthly inventory roll forwards and reconcile inventory subsidiary schedules, including Work in Progress (WIP) to the general ledger.
  • Set standards for new manufacturing components based on bills of materials and operational requirements, updating cost standards as necessary.
  • Analyze actual product margins against quotes and conduct variance analysis.
  • Manage inventory adjustments, issues, and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
  • Oversee Accounts Payable processes to resolve vendor issues, perform reconciliations, and review aging schedules, while enforcing best practices to enhance processing accuracy.
  • Support the implementation of internal controls and process improvements as identified by the Corporate Controller.
  • Approach tasks with a critical analytical perspective to ensure results are reasonable and substantiated by supporting data.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • A hands-on approach and a commitment to professional growth within the Finance department are expected.
  • Able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with occasional requirements to perform duties outside the typical office setting.

Physical Requirements

Reliable transportation is necessary, along with the ability to travel to various company locations as needed. Flexibility to work extended hours may be required.
