Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Lead Financial Reporting Accountant will take charge of the consolidation process for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting close. This role will also oversee the preparation of the annual external audited financial statements. The ideal candidate will be adept at gathering relevant information for journal entries, account reconciliations, and other related tasks, serving as the primary contact for all technical accounting inquiries. This position will ensure that the organization maintains robust internal controls that guarantee accurate accounting data and protect company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidating and eliminating accounting entries for various organizational entities.
  • Assist in refining and implementing the Company's established accounting processes.
  • Regularly maintain comprehensive reconciliations of all assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide thorough analyses and explanations of all consolidated transactions.
  • Lead the team in preparing for and supporting the annual audit with external auditors.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members.
  • Draft technical accounting-related memoranda.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with a Big 4 Accounting firm is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience in a complex manufacturing environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; advanced degrees such as an MBA or MSA are preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field within a publicly held company is highly desired.
  • CPA or CMA certification is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English.
