Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled accounting professional to join our Finance Team.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will be instrumental in managing daily financial operations while ensuring the successful completion of the month-end financial closing activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger through detailed analysis required for financial statement preparation, journal entries, account reconciliations, and various general accounting tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures that promote efficiency while upholding internal controls and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Conduct general ledger account reconciliations and prepare necessary adjusting journal entries, providing clear explanations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Generate precise, comprehensive, and timely financial reports and analyses as needed.
  • Collaborate with different departments to troubleshoot and resolve financial issues.
  • Facilitate the timely completion of month-end closing by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing account fluctuations.
  • Prepare monthly inventory roll forwards and reconcile inventory subsidiary schedules, including Work in Progress (WIP) to the general ledger.
  • Establish standards for new manufacturing components based on bill of materials and operational requirements, updating cost standards for manufactured and purchased items as necessary.
  • Assist in comparing actual product margins against quotes and perform related variance analyses.
  • Manage inventory quantity adjustments, address inventory issues, and oversee Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
  • Support Accounts Payable operations by resolving vendor-related issues, performing reconciliations, and reviewing aging schedules.
  • Monitor and assist with vendor returns, un-invoiced receipts, and prepayments, while promoting best practices and enhancing processing accuracy and volume.
  • Report on function metrics, including discount analyses.
  • Support and implement internal controls, process enhancements, and operational efficiencies as identified by the Corporate Controller and Assistant Corporate Controller.
  • Approach tasks with an analytical mindset to ensure results are reasonable and substantiated by supporting data.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • A hands-on approach and a commitment to professional growth within the Finance department are expected.
  • Able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, though occasional duties may require work outside the standard office setting.


Physical Requirements

Reliable transportation is necessary, along with the ability to travel to various company locations. Flexibility to work extended hours may be required.
