Emerald Staffing is seeking a dedicated Medical Billing and Insurance Verification professional to enhance our administrative team. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in medical billing or those with relevant educational qualifications eager to advance their careers in the healthcare sector.

Position Summary

As a Medical Billing and Insurance Verification Specialist, you will be an integral part of our administrative operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy of patient information across various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research to gather necessary information for the Insurance Verification process.
  • Prepare and submit appeals for denied insurance claims.
  • Analyze overpayments and initiate refund requests when applicable.
  • Engage with insurance providers to confirm that claims are processed and paid in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate billing records, reports, and files.
  • Handle incoming calls, screen inquiries, take messages, and provide essential billing information.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding patient information.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A degree or certification in Medical Billing is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Billing or Insurance Verification.
  • Proficient in EMR/EHR software.
  • Demonstrated accuracy in data entry.
  • Must be current on required immunizations.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Compensation: $23.00 per hour
