Position Summary:


The Electrical Engineer at GreenPower Motor Company plays a crucial role in the design and development of innovative product components from inception to full-scale production.

This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including conducting specification reviews, managing development timelines, preparing reports, and executing design evaluations. The engineer will also engage in simple mechanical designs, create comprehensive documentation packages, and oversee preproduction builds while facilitating the transition to production.

Additionally, this position involves providing technical support for vehicles post-production. A successful candidate will demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities also include assisting in the testing, fabrication, application, installation, and repair of electromechanical products and systems.
Support for production will be provided through quality testing, product design, and development initiatives.
Key tasks include designing and programming vehicle multiplex systems, exploring alternative design solutions, and utilizing blueprints and wiring diagrams to execute assigned projects. The engineer will oversee the fabrication and installation of components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

Designing and assessing electrical systems, components, and products will require a solid understanding of electrical principles and materials, enabling the engineer to make informed recommendations for design modifications or equipment repairs.

Responsibilities also include calculating and selecting optimized drivetrain systems for vehicles, surveying electrical systems, circuits, and plans, and overseeing maintenance and repairs to enhance machine and equipment efficiency. The engineer will identify and propose system improvements to elevate overall technical performance and will perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:


A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with electrical test systems in a related field, preferably in the automotive sector. Familiarity with testing electric vehicle battery systems is advantageous.

A solid understanding of Electric Vehicle Systems and Vehicle Charging Systems is preferred. Experience with real-time operating systems is a plus. Candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and a capacity for rapid learning and adaptation to process changes. A commitment to continuously analyzing and implementing procedures to maximize operational efficiencies is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and other relevant software programs is expected.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves considerable physical activity, including prolonged periods of sitting and computer work, and may require handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
