Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our scientific policy development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing research support for the development of laboratory policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and summarize evidence-based scientific literature to inform policy development
  • Draft new policies and revise existing ones to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date
  • Investigate and respond to client scientific questions and concerns
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless policy implementation
  • Provide inter-departmental communication regarding policy updates
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Biology, Medical Technology, or related field
  • Experience creating/revising medical policies and/or clinical practice guidelines within a managed care organization or similar healthcare environment
  • Understanding of process improvement principles
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of standard editorial/style conventions (e.g., APA format)
  • Strong general administrative skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Flexible to changes and innovation
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Ability to interact effectively with counterparts at assigned clients
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Medical Writers Association Essential Skills or equivalent
  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing methods
  • Customer service experience
  • Previous health plan experience
