Position Overview:
The Research Scientist I will play a crucial role within the scientific policy development team, reporting directly to the Manager of Laboratory Policy. This position is integral to redefining how health plans, physicians, and laboratories collaborate to provide optimal laboratory care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on evidence-based scientific literature.
- Critically evaluate and summarize findings to present to the policy team and clients.
- Revise existing policies and draft new ones as required.
- Ensure that all policy documents maintain high quality in content and structure.
- Address scientific inquiries from clients or potential clients.
- Maintain and update various documents and spreadsheets related to policy changes.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication regarding policy updates.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Nursing, Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology. Experience in creating or revising medical policies within a managed care environment is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in computer applications, and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential for success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with clinical laboratory testing methods and previous experience in a health plan setting will be advantageous.
