Job Summary

The Research Scientist will provide research support for the development of healthcare policies, researching evidence-based scientific literature, critically evaluating it, summarizing the data, and presenting it to the policy team and clients. This role will ensure that policies are created or revised with acceptable quality in content and structure, and that all associated documents are updated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and summarize evidence-based scientific literature to inform policy development
  • Draft new policies and revise content of existing healthcare policies
  • Collaborate with clients to reconcile policy changes and ensure compliance
  • Format and update documents to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Manage and maintain multiple forms and electronic documents
  • Track policy changes and updates in spreadsheets and trackers
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets using SmartSheet
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure policy updates are implemented
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Nursing, Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry
  • Experience creating and revising healthcare policies and clinical practice guidelines within a healthcare organization or similar environment
  • Understanding of process improvement principles and ability to apply them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of standard editorial and style conventions, such as APA format
  • Strong general administrative skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to adapt to changes and innovation in the healthcare industry
  • Ability to learn new technologies and systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Medical Writers Association Essential Skills or equivalent
  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing methods and procedures
  • Customer service experience and ability to provide excellent service to clients
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare plan or similar environment
