Position Overview:
The Research Scientist I will play a crucial role within the scientific policy development team, directly reporting to the Manager of Laboratory Policy. This position is essential in transforming how health plans, medical professionals, and laboratories collaborate to optimize laboratory care for a vast patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on evidence-based scientific literature and summarize findings for the policy team and clients.
- Assist in the formulation and revision of laboratory policies, ensuring high standards of quality and clarity.
- Address scientific inquiries from clients or potential clients, providing well-researched responses.
- Maintain and update documentation related to policy changes, ensuring all records are accurate and current.
- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate effective communication regarding policy updates.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Laboratory Policy.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Nursing, Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology. Experience in developing or revising medical policies within a managed care setting is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in standard office software, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional credentials such as membership in the American Medical Writers Association or equivalent experience in clinical laboratory testing methods will be advantageous.
