Position Overview

The Strategic Finance Partner plays a pivotal role in executing Kantar's global, divisional, and regional financial objectives while collaborating closely with teams across our Centers of Excellence and Global Business Services. As part of a dedicated Business Partnering team, you will implement exceptional financial strategies, insights, and solutions tailored to your Business Unit within Kantar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison with the Industry, Solution, or Unit leader, serving as a strategic and insightful finance partner and the main point of contact for leadership.
  • Oversee the annual planning and forecasting for the Business Unit, developing critical financial planning assumptions in collaboration with other organizational areas.
  • Manage the Business Unit planning cycle, ensuring compliance with the divisional timeline.
  • Review, challenge, and endorse Business Unit financial plans before they are presented to leadership.
  • Assess revenue pipeline and order book, implementing necessary improvements to maximize revenue and contribution margin, ensuring these are reflected in forecasts and annual plans.
  • Assist in the monthly closing process by identifying discrepancies against expectations.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners on workforce planning to ensure alignment with forecasted revenue and direct expenses.
  • Enhance business performance by delivering strategic, financial, and commercial decision support, providing analysis and recommendations to facilitate leadership decision-making.
  • Deliver monthly performance insights compared to forecasts, annual plans, and year-over-year drivers for the Business Unit.
  • Serve as the primary contact for strategic finance support for the North American business.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and challenges to commercial decisions based on thorough analysis.
  • Take ownership of initiatives, ensuring that commercial impacts and benefits are tracked through to completion.
  • Review financial outputs from systems and supporting teams to ensure the integrity and accuracy of business results.
  • Ensure that standard business performance reports meet the needs of the Business Unit and provide ad-hoc analysis as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring capital and operational expenditure cases.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing qualitative inputs and necessary commentary.
  • Be accountable for the operation of local controls in accordance with Group Controls policy.

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Membership in a professional accounting body (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) or an MBA.
  • Proven experience in finance planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • A strong understanding of the internal and external factors influencing business performance.
  • Experience in capital investment case preparation and evaluation.
  • Experience in a global, data-driven, and matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply financial knowledge to solve complex business challenges, including the capacity to convey financial information to non-financial leaders.
  • A strong service orientation, supported by hands-on customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • A keen business intuition, capable of building positive relationships with key collaborators.
  • The ability to navigate difficult conversations with integrity and humility.
  • A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with colleagues at various organizational levels.
  • Skills in generating practical and efficient solutions to address challenges and seize new opportunities.
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and demonstrate innovative thinking.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to tight deadlines and prioritizing appropriately.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (preferably SIA, One Stream, Maconomy, PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
